This resource site is designed to help you and your organization reach out and help families claim their child tax credit if they have not automatically received their payments from the IRS. This year, the child tax credit is fully “refundable,” meaning that eligible families can get it even if they don’t have earned income or owe no federal income tax. But millions of children could miss out on child tax credit payments if their families do not provide the IRS with the information it needs.
We need your help to reach families that are “non-filers,” meaning they neither filed tax returns nor gave the IRS their information for stimulus checks. They can claim their child tax credit through GetCTC.org, a simplified tax filing portal developed by Code for America in collaboration with the White House and U.S. Department of Treasury.
As trusted sources of information for the families you serve, we invite you to use and share these materials with your networks. Sign up for our email list to keep up to date on the latest resources.
