The COVID-19 pandemic has revealed that our social structure is failing to protect communities of color. These imbalances are exemplified by the unequal distribution of crisis relief resources in Latin America and the US.
Hispanics in Philanthropy’s #COVID19ImpactDisparity data mapping project shows the disparate impact that COVID-19 has had even as they work to flatten the "inequity curve." Their Emergency funding has helped to offset unexpected costs incurred by the rapidly-changing situation but effectively responding to this crisis requires addressing direct needs through a lens of dismantling systemic racism.
